Host an AmeriCorps Member

MFOC Members bring the following financial empowerment programs to host sites: Show Me The Money Day, financial education workshops, VITA free tax assistance and foreclosure prevention. A few of the average 2016-17 impact items:

  • 50 individuals whose finances are improved
  • 40 homeowners prevented from foreclosure
  • 6 volunteers recruited
  • 1 Show Me The Money Day resource fair

VISTA members can serve in strategic capacity-building tasks that improve the efficiency, reach or effectiveness of organization programs. A few of the average 2016-17 impact items:

  • $12,475 funds raised
  • 200 volunteer hours of service
  • New processes and procedures established


Host Site Benefits:

  • One full-time AmeriCorps member for a 12-month term (optional 7-month term for MFOC sites)
  • Training for AmeriCorps supervisors
  • Increased capacity to address local needs
  • New partnerships with other community organizations
  • Recognition and credibility through participation in AmeriCorps

Host Site Requirements:

  • Must be a CEDAM member
  • Must provide the $6,000 host site match
  • Must identify a supervisor for the AmeriCorps member
  • Must provide AmeriCorps member office space and access to phone, email and computer
  • Must provide supervisory and resource support as necessary
